Home sweet home…

New main website, new place for musings. :) I decided to be an adult about it and pay for it all. Go figure, eh? ;)

Heh.

I just received feedback on a fanfic story I wrote 18 years ago. Yikes.

They liked it, though, and I guess I didn’t epic fail it too badly.

Eighteen years.

And good Lord, the story was from a defunct show from the 1980s. How awesome is that?

Just goes to show you, there are fans of all ages…and new ones are born every day. :D

Min, this one’s for you…

LOL!

Stolen from

One of my all-time favorite authors, Frank McCourt, passed away Sunday.

Man, that’s a bummer of a morning to wake up to. We’ve lost a lot of good people this year – a lot of good ones.

I’m not going to post a huge post yet – but let me just say, that I went to New Orleans this weekend with a friend of mine and "accidentally" met Poppy Z. Brite’s husband and ate at his new restaurant, "The Green Goddess." LOL! We were just looking for a good restaurant, and my friend and I stumbled upon his. The food was AMAZING. I can’t post to his blog, but in case he sees it I’m going to post what my response was to him:

Here’s a long story I’ll try to make short: We ate in your restaurant yesterday! My friend and I were traveling from Dallas, and we "met" you on Tuesday during a random walk about town. Didn’t even know who you were to be perfectly honest, but we promised to return after the Taste of Tails. And we did – we came back on Thursday and had the BEST meal. :D I’m back in Dallas now, and I was looking over Neil’s blog – and noticed Poppy’s name. Clicked it, and it led me to your website. I was pleasantly amused when I discovered the Green Goddess name – and triply amused when I discovered that you were the chef that spoke to us on that steamy New Orleans afternoon! Lol! Everyone, Green Goddess definitely lives up to the hype. It’s beautifully exquisite, delicately prepared, and absolutely delicious. The hibiscus drink was also very light and refreshing, too. Good luck to you, chef! If we’re ever back in the Big Easy (this was our first trip down) we’ll be sure to swing by again!

**

Anyway, I’ll give more of my Big Easy report later on – it was a fabulous time!
